"I have long argued that the giving of offence, and even hate speech, should be a moral matter but not a matter for the criminal law. That is as true on the football pitch as on the streets. We should always challenge racism. We should also always challenge attacks on liberties in the guise of faux antiracism." Kenan Malik

‘Bollocks to the Cuts – Organise’…A Message From Sabcat Printing..

The government’s comprehensive spending review is going to be published two days from now on the 20th of October, it’s going to be brutal. Attacks on benefits, cuts to social/affordable housing provision that are going to affect the poorest and most vulnerable in society and the most and mind crunchingly short sighted education cuts and changes to tuition fees are just some of things we’re facing . The narrative from the government is that the cuts are necessary. There’s no other choice. This is bollocks. Cuts could be avoided if the government simply collected the taxes owed and closed the avoidance loop holes available only to the rich. They won’t, because this is naked class war.

While the public sector workers that provide the services to be cut await redundancy the banks who are at the root of the financial crisis are going to save £19 billion in tax . Vodafone have been let off a £6 Billion tax bill. The man who bankrolled the Tory election campaign Lord Ashcroft avoided £3.4 million. Philip Green who has reported on government waste has avoided £300 million. Even the vile Gideon Osborne himself and two other cabinet members are embroiled in tax avoidance allegations.

The question is. Who’s opposing the cuts? The Labour party aren’t making any credible calls for the closure of tax avoidance loop holes . They’ve lived with them for 13 years. They’re not opposing the cuts, only the speed that the cuts are implemented. No help there.

The unions are planning action and as the RMT leader Bob Crow put it action needs to be co-ordinated and include civil disobedience. Because of this and the fact he appears to scare Daily Mail story tellers we’re putting him on a t-shirt.

The spending review isn’t the only publication out this week, Class War are putting out their first paper in two years. We like Class War, no compromise opposition to the Tories since Thatcher. They’re not connected to the RMT and they don’t have the same politics as Bob Crow but they do agree in the most important aspect – The cuts are wrong and need to be resisted. We’re getting a delivery of the new Class War and we’re giving away a copy with these t-shirts.

We’re also putting together details of local groups around the country that are organising against the cuts that we’ll list on the t-shirt page and on our Facebook page. Know of a group? Leave the details as a comment on this article and we’ll add them to the list.

If you want to use the image for anything then feel free, the more we see and hear “bollocks to the cuts” the better. If you want a hi-res copy of the image email us and we’ll give you a link.

Campaigns about pensions are all well and good. The fight against tuition fees likewise but to our minds, the government are right about one thing. We’re all in it together and we should act like it. Bollocks to the cuts.
The t-shirt will be up on the main site at the end of this week for as little money as we can sell it for.
